Paralympic Sexual Abuse
EKO and co-counsel Salzano Ettinger Lampert & Wilson LLP are representing paralympic athletes who allege that they were sexually abused by gold medalist swimmer Robert Griswold. The athletes say that Griswold used his power within the para-swimming community to groom young members of the U.S. national team and engage in a pattern of sexual abuse. Reports indicate that Griswold faced allegations of misconduct as early as 2020.
SafeSport, the organization tasked with investigating such allegations, suspended Griswold in 2020 but later allowed him to return to competition. The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee was also put on notice of Griswold’s alleged sexual misconduct.
Please contact an EKO attorney if you experienced sexual misconduct as an athlete for U.S. Paralympic Swimming.
